After graduating or leaving ISU, you should migrate your CyMail account to a new e-mail account to retain messages. When you leave ISU, your CyMail account remains active for one semester before being suspended and is then in suspension for one semester before it expires. As migration must occur before your account is suspended, we suggest migrating immediately after leaving ISU. You can migrate to:
- An Alumni Association account
- A different Gmail account
- or another e-mail service of your choosing
In addition to migrating messages from CyMail, you can set up e-mail forwarding using ASW. This will redirect messages sent to your CyMail account to your new account. Note: This is only transitional, as forwarding will cease when your CyMail account expires.
Requirements
To qualify for a ISU Mail account, you must be a currently enrolled student with a Net-ID.

Net-ID
In order to remain eligible for a Net-ID, students must meet one of the following conditions:
- Have been enrolled in the most recent Spring, Summer or Fall semesters.
- Be sponsored in accordance with the Sponsored Net-IDs standard.
Directions
Students who are not registered for four consecutive non-summer terms are considered inactive by the Graduate College. There is an “I” hold on your account. Complete the Reinstatement to Active Status form found on the Graduate College website, under Current Students/Forms. This form needs to be approved by the graduate program you are re-entering and the Graduate College.

Directions
Students who have graduated have a “G” hold placed on their account following graduation. This is a routine hold, but it prevents future registration after graduation. If you wish to re-enroll at ISU in a different degree program, please contact that program. If you wish to continue taking courses for personal or professional reasons, complete the Request to Transfer from One Major/Program/Department to Undeclared/Nondegree form under Current Student/Forms and submitted to the Graduate College for approval.
