Approval for Research

If your research for a creative component or capstone, thesis, or dissertation involves any of the following areas, contact the Office of Research Ethics, before beginning your research to determine if you need committee approval.

• Human Participants (including identifiable secondary data) – Institutional Review Board (IRB)
• Live Vertebrate Animals - Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
• Biohazards or Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules – Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
• Radioactive Materials or Radiation Producing Devices – Radiation Safety Committee (RSC)
