Jacqueline Pryor
Program Assistant
Jacquie has worked in higher education for 15 years in the area of teacher education, student affairs, and athletic affairs. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in educational leadership and policy studies at Iowa State University. Her dissertation will examine how college educated Black women approach and navigate personal finances. Jacquie’s other research interests include the disparity of educational opportunity for Black women in the western hemisphere particularly in Brazil, Canada, and the United States; and the legacy of Black middle class families in society.
She has facilitated and given several presentations including:
- An Examination of Privilege through the South Park Lens at ISCORE 2006
- CRASH into Reality: An Intersection of Race, Adaptation, and Achievement at ISCORE 2006 and 2007
- Dialogues for Diversity at Iowa State University, 2003 and 2005
- Managing Time Wisely to the Ronald E. McNair Program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, 2000
- An A to Z Guide to College Admission, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Debutantes, 2000
- What Parents Can Do Now to Prepare Children for College, Pine Bluff area churches, 1995-2000
Jacquie is one of two program assistants who also serves as a teaching assistant for one McNair course each semester.
