Applications for the GPSS Research and Teaching Awards are due on April 1, 2008 by 5 p.m.

You can send the application packet to my office in 323 Catt Hall.

The Award

The recipient is awarded a prize of $200.00 and a certificate.

Directions for Submitting Nominations

Eligibility Requirements - Research

  • The application deadline for Fall semester is November 1 and Spring semester is April 1.  Submit completed applications to Alissa Stoehr, 323 Catt Hall.
  • Applicant has not submitted a Peer Research award application within the last year
  • Applicant must have at least one first-authored paper and oral presentation completed at time of application submission
  • In 300 words or less, please describe 2-3 major accomplishments in your area of research
  • Please attach curriculum vitae and two letters of support from fellow graduate students
    • Graduate students providing letters of support do not have to be from the same department or laboratory
  • Applicant can apply for both the Peer Teaching and Peer Research awards within the same semester or year
  • Applicant can self-nominate for the award

Peer Research

  • Applicant must be an instructor for at least one class before semester of application
  • In 300 words or less, please describe your teaching philosophy
  • Please attach curriculum vitae and two letters of support from fellow graduate students
    • Graduate students providing letters of support do not have to be from the same department or laboratory
  • Applicant can self-nominate for the award
  • Applicant can apply for both the Peer Teaching and Peer Research awards within the same semester or year
