Biographical Profile
For the past fifteen years, Dr. Haggray has served in various leadership roles in community colleges. Since 1997, Dr. Haggray has served respectively as Associate Dean and Dean of the Academic Alternatives and Instructional Support Division at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She has been responsible for departments encompassing distance learning, adult education, academic support services, instructional development, multicultural programming, and community development. She received her B.A. in History and Education (minor) and M.A. in Educational Technology from North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina. She completed her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at Iowa State University in 1992, and received ISU’s Dissertation Research Excellence Award. The title of her dissertation was, “An Interpretive Case Study of Perceptions and Experiences of Undergraduate Women in Engineering Majors at Iowa State University.” Dr. Haggray is a strong advocate for community colleges. She has led development of college and state-wide initiatives to improve retention and success of distance learners. She has extensive experience with online learning, student success initiatives, adult learner programs, English as a Second Language, international education, interdisciplinary studies, developmental education, multicultural programming, community and workforce program outreach, and university partnerships. Dr. Haggray is married to Rev. Dr. Dennis Haggray. They have a daughter, Alexandria, who is a freshman in high school
