The security of all members of the campus community is of vital concern to Iowa State University. For information on crime prevention strategies, the law enforcement authority of the university police, and policies and statistics about crime on campus, check the web site of the Department of Public Safety.

Parking on a large campus like Iowa State University is a very common concern of Iowa State students. The campus parking regulations are administered by the Department of Public Safety and their web site has all the details you need if you plan to drive a car on campus.

If you choose not to drive in Ames or on campus, don’t worry. Ames has an excellent and inexpensive bus transportation system called CyRide. Since student fees subsidize the service, as of August 12, 2002, you may ride around town free with your current ISU Card.
