Financial Support Programs
Programs for Newly Admitted Students
EEB Research Assistantships
With the support of the ISU Graduate College, the EEB program annually awards several research assistantships to new
students entering in the fall term. All applicants to EEB are eligible for consideration;
awards are based on a competitive review of academic credentials.
Departmental Research and Teaching Assistantships
Assistantship awards are also made available to students through faculty-supported research grants and/or
through the home departments of EEB students. Amounts of these awards vary and usually are based on
rates set by each department. Since such awards are administered through departments, they are generally
tied to specific faculty members and/or to membership in a specific department. Eligible applicants will
be identified duing the EEB admissions review process.
ISU Plant Sciences Institute (PSI) Fellowships
Applicants who have research interests related to plants, who possess strong academic credentials, and who

Eligible EEB applicants will be nominated by the EEB program.
ISU Office of Biotechnology Fellowships
Applicants interested in conducting research in biotechnology-related fields and who possess strong academic
credentials may be nominated for and receive Biotechnology Fellowships. Like the PSI awards noted above,
these fellowships involve attractive multi-year funding packages. Eligible EEB applicants will be nominated
by the EEB program.

traditionally underrepresented in higher education. For additional information, please see
