Learning Objectives

As a result of their training in the EEB program, graduates will acquire skills that prepare them for employment as professional scientists. These skills will be developed through the following learning objectives.

All students will demonstrate mastery of required course work by maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 or better and will understand the central issues and current research of their specialty within EEB.
All students will establish a Program of Study Committee and, in consultation with these faculty, will develop a Program of Study (POS) and research project.
All students will complete a thesis (for the MS) or dissertation (for the PhD), present a public defense of their research that demonstrates breadth and depth of knowledge in their field, and publish the results of their research (usually in peer-reviewed journals).
All students will be aware of the societal and ethical issues that surround the discipline.
