Please see the following link for a summary of the planned trip itinerary and activities.

Spring 2008 Southern Prairies and Wetlands Field Trip

Those wishing to participate in the Spring 08 trip should register for EEB 585 for the spring term.  Class meetings will take place over the course of the term in preparation for travel on 11-18 May 2008.

The EEB Extended Field Trip (EEB 585) is an annual 10-14 day trip to a North American ecoregion to study its major terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.  The trip provides faculty and students from all program departments the chance to interact and gain hands-on field experience in various disciplines.

The EEB Field Trip is offered once each academic year, and students may enroll as often as they wish during their graduate career, if space is available.  Depending upon the destination, the trip may be offered during winter break, spring break, or the summer.

Participants enrolled in the course meet regularly through the semester (or the semester prior) to plan the trip and discuss the topic of study.  The Extended Field Trip (EEB 585) is worth two credits per trip. In addition to the trip fee, a written report is required.

Recent field trips have included:

Mississippi River cruise - Spring 2006
Ecosystems of the Desert Southwest - Spring 2005
Natural History of the Southern Appalachian Mountains - Spring 2004
